Education

Milon

I believe that education is the establishment of a bound where values, knowledge, experience, are shared in one common goal. . .that of transformation.  It is more than a teacher lecturing, it is a relationship where both the facilitator and learner engage in the process of sharing and growing.  It is critical, transforming, collaborative, human, democratic and real at all levels in life and it is life long.

It is my hope that links below provide some ideas on how to incorporate this in your classroom, whether onsite or virtual, with young children or adults.

I believe that education is a basic human right. . .Democracy works when access to education is the foundation for all citizens.

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

 Aristotle

*********

Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught.

Oscar Wilde

*********

"It would not be a sign of health if such an important social interest as education were not also an arena of struggles, practical and theoretical. . . It is the business of an intelligent theory of education to ascertain the causes for the conflicts that exist and then, instead of taking one side or the other, to indicate a plan of operations proceeding from a level deeper and more inclusive than is represented by the practices and ideas of the contending parties. . . .It means the necessity of the introduction of a new order of conceptions leading to new modes of practice

John Dewey
